ESET Security Review

ESET offers a range of plans for Windows, macOS and Android. There’s a no-cost version that offers basic security. The more expensive plans offer features like parental controls, password management, and encryption of data. The most expensive plan includes a gaming mode to prevent unauthorized access to your computer’s hardware when you play.

Installation is fast and simple. It doesn’t bog down your PC with unnecessary software. There are a few additional settings but the majority of tools and features are available on the left-hand sidebar.

Connected Home monitor is a brand new feature that gives a visual representation of all devices connected to your network. You can also use it to look for weaknesses such as open ports and weak router passwords.

A pop-up appears every time you insert the USB device. You can scan the drive immediately or set it up to scan automatically. If you don’t want to scan the entire drive, you can run an on-demand scan.

More advanced users will appreciate the ability to tweak the way and what the suite is able to scan. You can specify the number of files, folders and the specific items that the program will scan. You can also specify how deep the program should search archives if you would like to restrict certain types of files.
